He's a lumberjack...
I named this picture after the Monty Python song about the lumberjack for two reasons. Firstly, it’s a photograph of a plantation of fir trees that, once they have grown enough, will be felled and sent to a sawmill. Secondly, the morning light and the fresh, uplifting scent of the trees reminded me of Monty Python’s cheerful tune, “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.”
This redwood woodland, bathed in dazzling early morning light, posed quite a challenge to capture. The scene’s range of brightness and shadow stretched the limits of the camera’s capabilities, but the resulting image captures that magical moment perfectly, reflecting both the serene beauty and the poignant future of these trees.
